First-launch setup (takes 30 seconds)

Klayr is independently distributed — your OS may ask you to confirm it's allowed to run. This is a one-time step and completely normal for apps distributed outside official app stores.

macOS

  1. Open the .dmg and drag Klayr to Applications.
  2. If macOS says the app can't be opened, run this once in Terminal:
xattr -cr "/Applications/Klayr.app"

Or go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. One-time step.

Windows

  1. Run Klayr-Setup-x.x.x.exe.
  2. If Windows shows a “publisher unknown” message, click More infoRun anyway.
  3. Follow the installer. Done.

This prompt appears for all independently distributed apps. It's a one-time confirmation.

Linux

Make the AppImage executable, then run it:

chmod +x Klayr-x.x.x.AppImage
./Klayr-x.x.x.AppImage

For the .deb package: sudo dpkg -i klayr_x.x.x_amd64.deb

You'll be ready in three steps.

01

Install Klayr

Download for your platform and run it. macOS: drag to Applications. Windows: run the installer. Linux: make executable, then run. First-launch notes below if your OS asks for confirmation.

02

Add your AI key

Open Klayr → Settings → API Keys. Paste a key from Google, OpenAI, or Anthropic. Google's Gemini has a free tier — no card needed. The whole thing takes under a minute.

03

Start your session

Launch Klayr before your interview, pick your interview mode, and let it run. It stays invisible in the background, ready the moment a question appears.
